The wettest place in August in WMO block #03 as it so often is, was Capel Curig in Snowdonia with 222.2 mm of rain (8.74″). The driest places were in the northeast of England, with Albemarle receiving just 27.6 mm (1.08″), in contrast, all the top ten wettest spots were in the northwest (fig 2).
